A blackmailer, released on bail after being arrested for harassing a Delhi girl, has again threatened to upload the victim’s private images on social media. The girl now intends to file an application in court to cancel the harasser’s bail.
The boy was earlier arrested from Kolkata after the Delhi Commission for Women filed an FIR against him. On receiving threats on social media, the girl had initially alerted the DCW on December 23, following which she came to know that similar cases have been reported by other women as well.
She even informed her family about the incident but was asked to keep silent as it would earn the family a bad name in the society. The girl also tried to reach the police for help but in vain.
DCW escorted the victim to KN Katju Marg police station and registered a complaint on December 24. DCW chief Swati Maliwal even called up top officials and asked them to trace the location of the offender and arrest him.
While cops had to reach all the way to Kolkata, the boy was arrested on December 27 but was released on bail later on.
To the girl’s horror, the blackmailer again approached her through social media and started harassing her again. Infuriated by the repeated offence, the DCW is all set to help the girl file another application to cancel the boy’s bail.
